Texas Discovery Gardens

Texas Discovery Gardens is a 7.5-acre public garden and nature attraction located at 3601 Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard in Dallas, Texas, within the historic Fair Park. Established in 1936 during the Texas Centennial Exposition, the gardens are home to the stunning Rosine Smith Sammons Butterfly House and Insectarium, a two-story tropical rainforest habitat filled with hundreds of free-flying butterflies and a diverse collection of insects. Other highlights include the Snakes of Texas exhibit, an outdoor playscape, koi ponds and fountains, model garden trains passing a miniature Alamo, and a preserved 1936 Cement House. The grounds also feature an art gallery, picnic areas, and specialty outdoor gardens. Regular programs include guided walks, educational workshops, and a summer storytime series, making the gardens a beloved nature and science destination for families in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
