Sommerrodelbahn Hoherodskopf is a thrilling outdoor leisure attraction located on the Hoherodskopf summit in Schotten, within the volcanic Vogelsberg region of Hesse. The summer toboggan run, open since 1980, features a 750-metre downhill track and a 300-metre uphill ride, allowing visitors to reach speeds of up to 40 km/h as they control their sled's pace via a hand brake. The run operates from spring through autumn, welcoming solo riders and pairs, with children from age three permitted and those under eight required to ride with an older companion on a two-seater sled. Beyond the toboggan run, the Hoherodskopf leisure mountain offers a climbing forest and a treetop path with suspension bridges, billed as Europe's only treetop trail of its kind, making the site an excellent destination for outdoor adventure in the Vogelsberg Nature Park. The surrounding landscape of rolling hills and forests provides a beautiful natural backdrop for the whole family.
