Muroto Dolphin Center is a unique marine interaction facility located near Cape Muroto on the eastern tip of Kochi Prefecture in Shikoku, set within a harbor known as Whale Beach. As the only facility in Kochi Prefecture offering direct encounters with dolphins, the center provides a range of programs allowing visitors of all ages to see, touch, and swim with bottlenose dolphins under the guidance of professional trainers. The immersive swimming program outfits participants in wetsuits and accommodates non-swimmers as well as children from age five, while the trainer experience offers up-close instruction in dolphin communication through hand signals. A feeding experience with no age restrictions lets even the youngest visitors connect with these gentle animals. In spring, special seasonal programs add further variety. Reservations can be made online, by phone, or by email. Surrounded by the dramatic coastal scenery of Cape Muroto — a UNESCO Global Geopark — the dolphin center pairs its aquatic encounters with one of Shikoku's most awe-inspiring natural backdrops, making it a memorable highlight of any visit to the Kochi coast.
