Monte Kaolino

Monte Kaolino is a one-of-a-kind outdoor leisure destination in Hirschau, Bavaria, built upon a 35-million-tonne sand dune created as a by-product of kaolin mining that has been in operation since 1833. Europe's only sand ski resort with a permanent chairlift, Monte Kaolino draws visitors year-round for sandboarding and sand skiing on its sweeping 120-meter descent, and has repeatedly hosted the Sandboarding World Championships. The adjacent Freizeitpark features an 800-meter monte-coaster summer toboggan run, a 25-meter swimming pool, a 50-meter water slide, an adventure pool, an 18-hole adventure golf course, a 3.5-kilometre inline skating and roller ski track, and a covered children's pool.
