Greenland is one of western Japan's largest and most beloved amusement parks, located in Arao City, Kumamoto Prefecture, on the island of Kyushu. The park is home to 81 rides — the most of any amusement park in Japan — including the iconic 105-meter-tall Ferris wheel with panoramic views over the Ariake Sea and Aso caldera, the suspended roller coaster NIO with two loops and three corkscrews, and the 1,497-meter dinosaur-themed coaster GAO. A seasonal water park opens from mid-July to early September, featuring jumbo slides and a lazy river across six distinct zones. Additional attractions include haunted walkthroughs, dark rides, an alpine slide, and a Wave Swinger. Greenland welcomes families, thrill-seekers, and groups throughout the year.
