Founders Heritage Park is an open-air heritage and living history attraction located at 87 Atawhai Drive in the heart of Nelson, New Zealand, dedicated to celebrating the region's commercial and social development from the 19th century onwards. Visitors can explore a meticulously crafted village of historic buildings, admire vintage vehicles including a Bristol Freighter aircraft and a historic fire engine, watch working locomotives operated by the Nelson Railway Society, and tour a maritime museum and working windmill. Beautifully landscaped gardens weave between the historic structures, and artisan shops and a cafe provide modern comforts. The park hosts a lively programme of events throughout the year including farmers markets, book fairs, craft and beer festivals, and community celebrations. Open seven days a week from 10am to 4:30pm, it is one of Nelson's most beloved family-friendly attractions.
