Éphémère Garden is a beloved annual garden installation in Boulogne-sur-Mer on the Opal Coast of northern France, staged each summer in front of the historic town hall. Running for over 19 years as a local tradition, the garden opens each last Saturday of June to mark the beginning of summer festivities. Each edition is themed around a fresh concept — past editions have explored the four classical elements, vivid colour palettes, and playful wordplay around poetry and nature — blending horticultural artistry with poetic and cultural imagination. The installation invites visitors of all ages on a journey through sculpted planting, artistic arrangements, and immersive sensory environments that celebrate the connection between nature and creativity. Seasonal, free to explore, and deeply rooted in the cultural life of Boulogne-sur-Mer, the Éphémère Garden is a highlight of the city's summer calendar and a testament to its commitment to green, living art.
