Buchenberg Nature and Adventure Park is a diverse wildlife and outdoor attraction located just outside the town of Waidhofen an der Ybbs in Lower Austria. The park brings together native and returning wildlife — including lynx, wolves, wildcats, raccoons, and around ten species of owl — in naturalistic enclosures, with the highlight being a unique walk-through owl sanctuary where visitors can observe birds at close range in their natural habitat. A spacious farm area and guided animal encounters, including donkey hikes and raccoon tours, add hands-on appeal. For active visitors, Austria's largest forest climbing park offers nine courses and over 90 stations, while two 3D archery courses with approximately 50 stations challenge all skill levels. Hiking trails wind through mixed forest with observation towers and shelter huts, and overnight stays in zoo chalets or treehouses are available for a truly immersive nature experience.
